The forest is not a resource. It is a relationship.

4rest4all began as a field relationship, not as an institution. For years, its founders worked alongside Indigenous communities in the Amazon, listening, accompanying, and learning from the people who protect the forest. Over time, those relationships revealed a recurring gap: the communities already held the knowledge, the leadership and the will to defend their territories; what they often lacked was a reliable bridge to technology, partners, resources and visibility on their own terms.

The 4rest4all Association was formally constituted in Brazil as a non-profit civil association to give that bridge a stable, transparent and accountable structure. Today it operates as an Indigenous-led organization, holding the legal, financial and operational backbone that allows field work to happen with continuity, ethics and respect for community governance.

The mission of 4rest4all is to stand beside the communities that already protect the forest, to connect them with the technology, resources and allies they choose to welcome, and to amplify their voices without taking over their protagonism. We do not arrive with answers. We arrive with the willingness to listen, to build long-term relationships, and to leave the leadership where it has always belonged: with the communities.

Our work is grounded in ethics, humility and care. We believe the forest is not a resource: it is a relationship. Every project is co-designed with the partner community, every deployment is community-led, and every story is told with the consent and governance of those it concerns.

4rest4all (Associação 4rest4all) is a Brazilian non-profit civil association, formally registered and operating under Brazilian law. It is not a foundation, a company, or a personal initiative. Donations are received and administered by the Association itself, in accordance with its bylaws, governance and applicable legislation, never by any individual.

The Association is registered in Brazil under CNPJ No. 66.464.130/0001-93. Its registered office is in Brazil; the full institutional address is available upon request to contact@4rest4all.org.

Governance at 4rest4all is designed to keep decision-making close to the communities. The Association is led by a board composed of Indigenous leaders and allies with deep field experience, supported by an Indigenous Council that guides priorities, protocols and ethical standards. No deployment, communication or partnership moves forward without the consent and direction of the partner community.

This structure ensures that technology, funding and visibility serve community priorities, not the reverse. The board and council review field operations, partnerships and financial decisions, and the Association reports on its activities to partners, donors and public authorities.

The 4rest4all team brings together Indigenous leaders, field coordinators, technologists and communicators who work directly with partner communities. The Indigenous Council is composed of representatives from the territories we accompany, ensuring that strategy and field priorities are set by those who live the reality of the forest.

Our methodology is built on three principles: listen first, build long-term relationships, and leave the protagonism with the communities. We do not parachute projects into territories. Every initiative begins with a relationship, continues with co-design, and is sustained by ongoing accompaniment.

In the 4restlink connectivity program, this means deploying satellite internet and solar energy only where communities have requested it, training local operators to maintain the equipment, and ensuring that connectivity serves community-defined priorities such as healthcare, territorial protection, education and communication with the outside world.

4rest4all is accountable to three audiences: the communities we accompany, the donors and partners who trust us with resources, and the public authorities that regulate our work in Brazil. We publish our legal identity, registration data and institutional contact openly, and we report on how donations are used.

Donations are allocated to the 4restlink Indigenous connectivity program and related field operations, satellite units, solar power, field installation, community training and long-term technical assistance. No donation is routed to a personal account.

The 4rest4all Association has not yet completed its first fiscal year. As a result, the first annual financial report will be published as soon as the fiscal year closes and the accounts are formally reviewed. 4rest4all works in partnership with Indigenous associations and communities across the Brazilian Amazon, including territories such as Yanomami, Vale do Javari, Xingu and Balaio. Our partners are the communities and their representative associations, they define the needs, host the deployments and lead the field work on the ground.

We also collaborate with technology providers, academic institutions and allied organizations that share our commitment to Indigenous leadership and territorial protection. Partnerships are established through formal agreements that respect community governance and data sovereignty.
